Brothers and sisters in Christ,
Today is Holy Saturday, also know as Easter Vigil. Today we conclude the three day long celebration begun Holy Thursday. Christ is in the tomb. There is no daytime Mass on Holy Saturday. Easter Vigil begins after sundown. The service begins and ends in darkness. We recall, with Mary and the disciples, that Jesus died and was separated from them for the first time as He lay in the tomb.
Easter Vigil is divided into four parts:
1) the Service of Light
2) the Liturgy of the Word
3) the Liturgy of Baptism
4) the Liturgy of the Eucharist
It is a glorious, dramatic liturgy which prepares us for The Resurrection on Easter Sunday. We hope to see you at our service tonight at 8:00 pm. Our Easter celebration at Sacred Heart church will be at the normal Sunday Mass time of 9:30 am.
We continue to pray for God's blessing on his people!
Yours in Christ,
You Sacred Heat parish family
